Dhawan and Williamson Outplayed the Opposition

Today’s match between Delhi Daredevils and Sunrisers Hyderabad witnessed an unreal display of class and hitting. Dhawan and Williamson stitched a match winning partnership to take Hyderabad home.

Batting first, Delhi batsmen didn’t start off well. In the 8th over, Delhi were tottering at 43 with their 3 top batsmen, Prithvi, Roy and Shreyas back in the hut. On a day that seemed to be going against the Daredevils, in came Rishabh Pant. The 20-year old wicket keeper batsmen was in prime touch. He thrashed the “best bowling attack in the IPL” to all parts of the ground. No matter who the bowler was, no matter where the bowl was pitched, Pant was hitting every bowl on the up.

There was no shot that he didn’t play. From a beautiful punch down the ground, to a completely orthodox reverse scoop behind the stumps, he played it all. In a brilliant display of power and class, Pant went on to score the highest ever score by an Indian in IPL. Hitting 15 fours and 7 sixes, Pant scored a brilliant 128 off just 63 balls. He thrashed Rashid, Kaul and India’s best death bowler, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar. His innings was just insane.

Chasing 188, Hyderabad weren’t the favorites to win the game. Opening the innings, Hales got out in the 2nd over. Post that, Delhi’s bowlers couldn’t manage to pick another wicket. Dhawan and Williamson stood there and made sure Hyderabad’s Sun didn’t set. In a match winning partnership of 176*, Dhawan scored a lightening 50 ball 92, while Williamson contributed with a scintillating innings of 83 runs off just 53 balls.

In the end, Hyderabad won the match quite comfortably with 7 balls to spare. For his innings of 92, Dhawan was named the Man of the Match.

Totally unprofessional; Trying to figure out what writing is all about; I am just a name.
