Time to pick your side

Colossians 2:20 “Since you died with Christ to the elemental spiritual forces of this world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its rules?”

What a powerful verse. Here Paul is talking about the world trying to attack Christians for what they were eating and drinking and their religious festivals or lack thereof. THe church was under attack. The world will always attack and attempt to destroy anything or anyone who goes against it. They were attacking these new Christians for not keeping Jewish law on eating and drinking, clean vs unclean, or keeping with traditions. Here is the thing, Jesus fulfilled the law with his death and resurrection and we entered a new covenant. Clean and unclean is dead with the world. We are alive in Christ not man’s traditions and laws.

What about today? Is the church still under attack by the world? Absolutely!!!!!! California is trying to ban the Bible and keep preachers from preaching truth because it classifies it as hate speech. Prayer has been kicked out of schools. The Ten Commandments are not welcome anywhere. Men can use women’s restrooms and women can use men’s restrooms depending on a feeling. Gender is subjective to how you feel that day. Marriage is to anyone, no longer one man and one woman. Our entire way of life is under attack.

The question then becomes why? John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I come that they may have life and have it to the full.” If you are not living for God then you are living for the devil. If you are not chasing Jesus you are chasing the world and its ruler Satan. Forget the world, you died to the world when you accepted Christ. Romans 6:6 “knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin.”

Let the world attack, they are already defeated. Nothing this world can do can touch your salvation! Jesus defeated the world, we live in and through Jesus so the world is dead and gone to us. Take the Bible away, you make its words more precious, alive, and powerful. Stop preachers from preaching, you make their words cut deeper and move further. You can not stop God. You can not contain God. He promises to work ALL things, both good and evil, for the good of those who love him. Romans 8:28.

So whose side are you on? God or Satan? You have to decide. There is no middle ground. You are either saved and living for God and producing fruit through the Holy Spirit or you are not saved and living for Satan and producing worldly fruit. The time is NOW to pick a side. Don’t wait one more second. God loves you, I love you, the church loves you. Please accept Jesus’ gift of salvation and eternal life today!!!!! Stand in defiance of the world in God’s love. Love the sinner hate the sin. Love them enough to show them the cross and Jesus’ love for them.

I would point you to Matthew 7:5, Luke 6:37, John 8:1-8, and especially Luke 6:32. It’s easy to love those who think like us, sometimes being a Christian that furthers God’s desires for man means loving sinners. I hope you have a blessed day 🙂

Thank you for commenting. Those are great verses and are very true. I am not judging anyone just pointing out that the world is still attacking us as Christians and we need to decide whose team we are on God or Satan…there is no middle ground. As I closed with we are to love ALL people regardless of their opinions or sins, I am called by Jesus to call a sin a sin but love the sinner. Jesus was the friend of sinners, he loved me when I was still a sinner and Praise God for it. This world needs Jesus type of non-judgmental love but that also comes with accountability and truth there is a difference in expressing truth and calling a sin a sin and judging someone..I am just called to plant seeds, tell the truth of the gospel, and love people as Jesus loves them and me. If we all truly put the love of Jesus first this world would be so much different.

I agree with a lot of what you’re saying! I just think we tend to forget that love is our main objective as Christians. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
