Less presents, more presence

Less presents, more presence

Sitting at the corner,
Isolated and feeling alone,
For I feel like am a “tag along “,
No one talks to me or cares,
So I stay silent all day long.

They put up a facade around me,
Bribing me with presents,
But I don’t care about them,
I want they presence instead,
Materialistic things ain’t so valuable,
At least to me.

Deep down am crushing,
I feel my walls breaking,
But when i scream for help,
No one can hear me,
So I stay in silence,
Hoping it fades away.

I am broken into pieces,
But I stay strong and composed,
I listening to music for console,
It calms me down,
For a moment, I become happy,
Forgetting everything I felt.

I listened to a talk show recently in Ntv called Victoria’s lounge. The topic was mental illness among teens. Even though it’s not common in Kenya, there are teens who suffer from it. People around them should be aware and care for them with love and support. ♥
