I’m lacking in self-motivation

Don’t panic! It’s completely normal to struggle to motivate yourself even to do the simplest of things. This means that you will find it difficult to do something that you can usually do very easily. Unfortunately, this could easily be for many reasons but, it’s usually due to an event that could have occurred the night before.

So how can I motivate myself? Well, when you’re feeling low, it’s more difficult than normal meaning that you have to try harder in order to get a result. Here are a few tips that might help you to become motivated when you really don’t feel like it.

  1. Force yourself – this is a great way to make yourself feel better when you really don’t feel like doing anything. When you force yourself, you make yourself feel better because you end up doing something that you originally didn’t want to do. This means that you beat the lack of motivation and end up gaining something from it.
  2. Listen to some motivational music – when you do this, be sure NOT to sit down. If you do this you’ll just end up sitting there listening to music and watching the time move by. So when you listen to motivational music, it is best for you to act motivated along with it. Doing this will allow you to beat the negativity that you started with.
  3. Push yourself – tell yourself that you can do it and that there is a reason why you were going to do something in the first place. This is so important to allow you to make yourself feel upbeat without having to ask anyone else for help.

These tips are very useful to allow yourself to get back up again. Now, it’s very easy to allow yourself to slip and fall but it can also be just as easy to get up and go. It won’t always be as easy as it was before but the more difficult it can be, the more it will be worth it.

As I mentioned earlier, it isn’t always clear what causes the huge collapse in motivation, but we do know how to get it back again. Using the steps above and your own knowledge you should be able to drag yourself out of bed on the morning where you really don’t want to. Believe me when I say that this will be worth it because it will make you feel as if you have accomplished something in the day already.
