Royal Challenger Bangalore’s Woeful Run Continues

RCB’s woeful run continues. With the best batsmen the world has seen being in their team, RCB still manage to get out for such low scores.

Having the services of some of the best hitters of cricket ball, RCB still don’t score big runs. With the likes of Brendon McCullum, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in their team, RCB were wrapped up for a total of 127 in their 20-overs by  the not-so-good CSK bowlers at the MCA stadium in Pune. It was only because of the innings played by Parthiv patel and Tim Southee that RCB could reach 127. Except Parthiv’s 53 and Southee’s 36, no other batsmen could even manage to reach the double figures. The best batsman, Virat Kohli, got out after scoring 8 runs. The ferocious McCullum scored 5 and Mr. 360 just managed to get off the mark.

Ravindra Jadeja, who hasn’t been in form in the entire tournament, picked up 3 wickets for 18 runs in his 4-overs for the Super Kings. Harbhajan bowled a great spell, picking up 1 wicket for 22 runs in his 4.

Chasing a low score, Chennai had a steady start. Though, they lost Watson at a score of 18, but Rayudu and Raina provided stability to the innings. Rayudu played a yet another good innings, scoring 32 off 25 balls. Raina too played his part well. He scored a 21-ball 25 with the help of 2 fours and 1 six.

After losing Raina and Rayudu at 62 and 78 respectively, CSK needed someone to finish it off for them. While CSK were looking for a finisher, in came MS Dhoni. He displayed his brilliance yet again and won the game for Chennai, scoring 31 runs off 23 balls, hitting 1 four and 3 long sixes.

Chennai won yet another game. They have now won 7 out of 10 games they have played and are handsomely leading the points table with 14 points to their name.

And for Bangalore, they are playing just the way they do every year. They pick up the best batsmen and who fail. While picking the batsmen, they forget to pick some good bowlers who can win them matches when the batsmen don’t click. And this is what is happening again. With de Villiers, McCullum and Kohli fighting hard to find some form, RCB are being wrapped up for low score with an exception or two here and there. And their bowlers are not capable of defending low totals. Leave aside low totals, RCB’s bowlers find it hard even to defend a score of 200 odd runs.

Totally unprofessional; Trying to figure out what writing is all about; I am just a name.
