Since I’ve been Single..

If you follow my blog, then you know that I am newly single and on this journey to basically rediscover myself. So, to assist in doing this, I’ve also shut down all my social media accounts.. like Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. And you know what? Its amazing what you actually do with the extra time.

As a teenager, I loved to write. I loved to draw. To paint. And somewhere along the way of becoming an adult, getting married, having kids, a job, bills, etc… I lost that part of me. Then.. enter social media. Where everyone is so wrapped up in everyone else’s lives and what they’re doing, that they forget about their own. So, I shut that shit down and decided to focus on other things.

And you know what, I got the urge to draw and paint one day. I’m redoing my bathroom as well, so I needed black, white and red paintings to go in there. And so I decided to do them myself. Now, I have not drawn or painted since I was 17! But I had fun. Even though it hurt my old 36-year-old bones to be on the floor that long. I must invest in an easel. Lol. My son walked in my room while I was doing it and he was like, “Oh my God, I didn’t know you could draw! Look at you doing all this cool stuff with your time.” 😐😐 He’s 15. Brat. Lol

So now I’m like… I like taking pictures too. Maybe I’ll buy a camera and start there. Take pictures of things I think are beautiful. I can do whatever I want. It’s pretty amazing. I’ll attach some pics of my paintings. Don’t mind the painting of the man… he looks kind of plump.. lol.. but, hey, its my second painting! Ha!

Be kind to yourself.

I want to start painting too! I want to make a painting that reflects my process towards self-actualization. Although I am younger, and so not have kids, I struggle being independent and happily single. Thanks for sharing.

I totally agree with you Sadah 🙂 Rediscovering ourself is essential (but if we don’t reach that point that we have to do it or else, we don’t realize the importance). I often say that I quit wasting time on things that are not so important after all (like ironing the clothes lol ir struggling to keep a house with two boys always clean) – happy mamma, happier kids. 😀 I wish you the best out of all this <3
