Look Around To Thwart Your Sorrow & Emotions

In today’s society each one of us is gripped by some sorrow or is hit by some emotional setback. We feel that nobody on this earth is as sad and emotionally disturbed as we are. We are inconsolable and put ourselves  in our own shell of grief.

Such emotions are part of the human nature and are difficult to alleviate. The big question then is ,that how should one control such emotions and come out of this state?

The most important way ,of course is to surrender to the Almighty and ask HIM for  strength to overcome the situation and the other way is to look around. By looking around I mean that we should observe others and try to assimilate their problems. We should come out of our self-created shell and should try to look beyond ourselves.

Let me share an incidence which might throw some light on the point I am trying to make.Recently, my son went outside Delhi for his Internship. Initially I became extremely emotional and was in a state of extreme melancholy but then I tried to recall all my friends and acquaintances whose kids have been studying outside and have been away for years. There were a lot of my son’s friends who belonged to other states and cities and have been away from their hometowns for years.I thought of their parents that how they would have felt when their kids left home years back. There were some friends who have even sent their only daughters outside for education. I thought of all the parents who marry their daughters and send them away permanently. I tried to imagine the emotional trauma they all must have felt in their respective situations.

On thinking of all these people, I realized that I am not the only one and not at all the first one to be in this situation. Probably that is the order of the day and we have to give away our emotions for the career growth of our children. Our emotions should be their strength and not a hindrance in their progress.

Alike the above situations there are many other situations; a financial crisis, an illness or many other problems, which can be solved by this process. By looking around we get the realization that there are many like us who are in worse situations, there problems are much bigger than ours and we are much better placed than them.

Thus, instead of sulking if we decide to use our precious time in more positive and fruitful activities then we will be able to solve a lot of our self-created issues. So observe others to preclude your sorrows and emotions and look for ways to divert your mind away from them and push it towards better things in life.
