Quintessential Thinking

One day a lady ,along with her six-year-old child went to a nearby store for shopping .As they entered, the child caught the attention of the shopkeeper. He was so enchanted by the child’s innocence that he kept a box of full of candies in front of him and asked him to take as many candies as he wants, but the child sweetly denied the offer .The shopkeeper repeatedly urged him to take the candies, but the child was firm in his decision. The shopkeeper was really impressed by the child’s conduct,so when, even after constant urging the child refused, the shopkeeper himself gave him a handful of candies .The child happily accepted them, thanked the shopkeeper and quickly secured all the candies in his pocket. The shopkeeper as well the mother were totally confused by the child’s behavior.

After buying all the essentials, both mother and child left the store. As they were walking down, the mother asked the child, that why did he refused to take the candies when the shopkeeper urged him to do so ,but readily took them when the shopkeeper gave them to him with his own hands .

With utmost innocence, the child gave a beautiful answer .He said, “Mom, my hands are very small in comparison to the hands of the shopkeeper,if I had accepted his first offer and had  taken the candies myself ,I would have got only a few of them ,so I refused .But I knew that if I receive the candies from the shopkeeper’s hand than I will get a handful of them,so I readily accepted his second offer.”The mother was astonished to hear such a truthful answer from the child.

The child’s innocent thoughts should be a lesson for all of us .The child had complete faith that he will get more candies if he gets it from the shopkeeper’s hand rather than  he himself picking them up with his tiny hands,so he firmly refused his offer.

Alike the child ,we should have complete faith in the acts of God .We should always believe that in life ,whatever we have got or will get with the will of God ,is surely going to better than what we want or desire.
We should never doubt HIS actions and trust HIM with complete childlike innocence, surrendering  fully to HIS ways and believing that what we receive from HIM is the best for us.
We should never forget that the plans of God are beyond our imagination and should accept what HE gives us with total faith, because who knows someday when we are wishing for a small piece of gold, HE might be planning a treasure for us.
