Phoenix

A thousand voices call my name
The voices in the Void

My indecision
My prison
A facade dissolves
Vanity in vain

My place to die
My destiny
A cruel lie
Failure

I alone chose my path
But I did not choose my fate
Faith affirmed
In empty despair

A voice from the blackness
Doth call me forth
The scale weighs my soul
And I am reborn

For the beggar and the king
Share a dark kinship
Both are sides
Of an impossible coin

A lesson to be learned
With tragic rebirth
A phoenix longs for a new life
From ashes
To the madness of this world
