An introvert’s frustrations!
Who am I, what is my purpose, why am I not the same as everyone else?
These are questions I have asked myself a lot in my life.
I had been at a work dinner recently and it really got me thinking about this again.
I am not the same as these people.
I am different.
I think different.
I act different.
I feel different.
I am the quite girl who gets on with her work/life while taking in every little detail.
I am the girl who loves her life and wish people would understand.
If you feel like this quite often then know that you are not alone. There are two human personality theories that in my option are over looked a lot of the time in understanding people. These personality theories are that you are either an introvert or an extrovert.
Let me explain a little more.
An introvert is typically, the person that no one understands. Someone who doesn’t talk a lot and tends to keep to themselves. They are usually mistakenly labeled as rude, unfriendly, stuck up, or bitchy.
An introvert prefers to spend time alone in order to recharge their inner being. An introvert may appear to be shy to others, but that is not necessarily an accurate label. Being among groups of friends, family and even strangers can be wonderfully stimulating and joyous occasions. (Urban Dictionary)
Introverts are simply misunderstood because the majority of the population consists of extroverts.
An extrovert is the opposite of this. simply, a person who is more concerned with the outer world and having a social life. More of an outgoing socially confident person.
Being either is totally fine. But I think there is a little miscommunication between both introverts and extroverts when trying to understand each other.
And as I said, as most of population is made op of extroverts it can sometimes (most of the time) be hard for introverts to feel accepted and often end up feeling like they do not fit in!
It’s also important to note that no one behaves like a stereotypical introvert or extrovert all the time.
Please be patient with other people and accept them for who they are, whether it’s an introvert or extrovert.
Just because I am quiet, does not mean I am unfriendly, sad, stuck up, less than you, wound up, stupid or just plain rude. This is not the case at all.
It’s simple, I love my life, I enjoy the way I spend my time. I love drawing, music, animals and I am human and possibly like quiet time a little more than most people.

We all come from different surroundings, lives, backgrounds and all grew up knowing something different this does not mean we are better or less than anyone else. It means we are all molded differently and that is a good thing!
There is enough cruel in the world, so next time you see a quiet person in the corner respect that. They may be an introvert. This does not mean you can’t talk to them. It just means they are a little different than you.
Let’s all show a little more kindness in the world and make life a little easier for everyone!
