War-Fair?

Be it the victor or the defeated,
They hear nothing but echoes.
Echoes of death and mistakes repeated,
Families destroyed and brotherhoods broken,
Lives lost and children orphaned.
Is conquest and glory more valuable,
Then the lives of many?

Those who died never again rise,
Yet war is waged by those who call themselves wise.
War leaves nothing but sweat and tears behind,
And makes devils out of those who were kind.
War is evil, war is ill.
Are the young of our countries,
Supposed to be in the war zone to kill?
Oh Lord! Let there be peace one day..

When one man dies we call it a tragedy,
But when the many die,
It is but a statistic.
Shouldn’t the many outweigh the one,
But yet we send the many to war
Dagger in one hand,
In the other a gun.

Be it the victor or the defeated,
They hear nothing but echoes.
Echoes of death and mistakes repeated,
Families destroyed and brotherhoods broken,
Lives lost and children orphaned.
Is conquest and glory more valuable,
Then the lives of many?

No, conquest and glory ARE not more important THAN human lives. Let there be peace on earth! ✌️

Wow.. this poem is strong yet beautiful! Echoes of the dead is indeed all that is left behind after the war of the ‘wise’.

This is moving, truly… War is such an awful element of humanity, and one to which we so easily turn a blind eye.
