“Faith has to do with things that are not seen and hope with things that are not at hand.” –Thomas Aquinas
“Where there is no hope in the future, there is no power in the present.” –John Maxwell
I still have no job. I am still unsure of what sort of ministry God has called me to. I still have a hyperactive dog. I still need to find a new place to live.
Despite all this, today I feel OK. I have hope. Unfortunately, I cannot say that I am joyous. But I do have hope. Another friend lost their job yesterday. I lost mine a few months ago. In trying to encourage my friend, I was reminded that God is with us. He will not forsake His children, who live according to His purpose.
God wants to bless us. He wants us to ask Him for help. He loves us. He wants and has what is best for us.
Father, help me to trust You and Your perfect timing. Help me not to give in to despair and desperation. Help me to not jump before You tell me to jump. Let Your Will be done. In Jesus’ name, amen.
“You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look about you and take your rest in safety. You will lie down, with no one to make you afraid, and many will court your favor.” – Job 11:18-19
