No doubt we are heading towards progress and prosperity due to access and control of technology, which has made our life easier. If we look at the life of our great grand parents, their lives were very simple and less complex. Now we have entered in the modern world where technology is having a great boom but unfortunately humanity is fading rapidly among people. Humanity is chained in its own design. It’s trapped in its own shackles; no matter what form, it’s present today.
In current scenario where mass killing is carried out by tyrant rulers who are brutally slaughtering thousands of people including innocent children and women, why have these people lost the essence of humanity? The continuous slaughter and genocide in Eastern Ghouta and around the globe is alarming, and the situation can’t be expressed in words. The hands behind these inhuman acts can be appropriately termed as those of tyrants and murderers. Yet, they should not forget that God has preserved the body of Pharoah as a sign for the people to come so that they should stay humble on earth.
This was expressed by Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (R.A) when he said to his governor in Egypt ‘Amr Ibn Al-As, whose son had hit an Egyptian Copt, “Why did you enslave people whose mothers had borne them free?” There words have gone down in history and this is the starting point of constitutions and charters of human rights.
Why humanity lost its true essence? Why we became so heedless ? While we are commanded to stop the hand of oppressor.
“Whosoever of you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; and if he is not able to do so, then [let him change it] with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so, then with his heart — and that is the weakest of faith.” [Muslim]
This is an important hadith because it shows that we should not be innocent bystanders – we are obliged to do something to stop wrongdoing. It’s time to awaken our spirit to support the victims who are barbarically oppressed and slayed within their own territories. Silence is no more golden. We need to voice out against the brutal, inhuman acts of humanity. The least we could do, is come together and united with all our best potential, lets condemn evil, let’s awake. After all, every drop comes forth one by one forms together one powerful majestic ocean. Though we live in a world where criticism is easy and solution implementation is difficult. These times of high end technology have made our lives easy, and on the contrary have made us more insensitive.
“Verily, with hardship there is relief” (Qur’an 94:6)
Let’s beg Allah to accept our repentance and so he may forgive us !
