The Absence of Light

Tear drops roll down my face into deep pools of despair,

Why did you have to leave?

Now all I feel is pain,

I hope the happiness is worth my endless tears.

Drops seep down deep into my being,

So deep the light can’t penetrate,

Said goodbye to the happiness and welcomed the sorrow like my long lost friend,

Darkness can bring warmth in the coldest days throughout the torment,

Caused by loving the unattainable.

Fire dwells in my river of tears,

Lighting the way for the next soul to make me whole,

Once I repair the hole.

I thought you were the one to bring the light,

But you only made the dark even more dark.
